Pregnancy

Details

Who are we looking for to take part in this study?

We are looking for women who have MS and are currently pregnant. We are interested in pregnant women with any kind of MS, whether you are taking a disease modifying therapy or not, and whichever MS team is looking after you.

What does taking part in this study involve?

We will ask you to complete two or three questionnaires during your pregnancy and a series of questionnaires in the first year after you give birth. We will ask details about your MS and MS treatments, about your pregnancy and baby, as well as questions about your mood, how you feed your baby (breastfeeding and formula feeding), and what has influenced these choices.

How often will you ask me to complete questionnaires?

During your pregnancy, we will ask you to log in and complete questionnaires when you are about 15 and 24 weeks pregnant. We will also ask you to complete a series of questionnaires when your baby is about 3 months old, and again around the time of their first birthday.

Why is taking part in this study important?

At the moment, neurologists have relatively little information to help inform the care of women with MS who are pregnant. We are keen to learn from every pregnancy – and to use this information to help improve the care that all women with MS considering pregnancy receive.

If you want to find out more, you can read the Short Patient Information Sheet which outlines the study or the Longer Information Sheet that contains all the details you might want to know.
